While in Marrakech, we stayed in a fabulous little riad called Riad Matham. It was inside the medina (the old city walls) and just a 5 minute walk to enter the souk. We highly recommend this little gem and for the price (we paid roughly $65 a night in low season), it just doesn’t get much better!
Because the riad was not located on a car accessible road, the owner met us at our taxi (which he arranged) and showed us the way. The entrance is located on a small alleyway (photo below). I never would have guessed that such a beautiful oasis awaited us behind that door!
The courtyard of Riad Matham.
The door to our quaint room.
The bathroom in our suite was very nice and always clean when we arrived in the afternoon.
They even had a pet turtle to greet you in the courtyard!
Breakfast was included with the price of the room which was great.
Dinner at the riad was fabulous as well! Their cook was excellent as was the atmosphere!
There are over 1000 riads to choose from in the Marrakech medina and we couldn’t be happier that we chose this one! Visit their website here. And no, they definitely did not sponsor this post.. just sharing our good experience!
